The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has disbursed an additional GH¢151 million to healthcare providers across the country. This release is part of the NHIA’s ongoing commitment to ensure the smooth functioning and delivery of quality healthcare under the National Health Insurance Scheme.
In a press statement posted on the authority’s official Facebook page, the NHIA announced that the funds will be used to settle outstanding claims through March 2024 for higher-tier healthcare providers and through April 2024 for most lower-tier facilities.
This latest disbursement follows a previous release of GH¢135.6 million, which was used to clear outstanding claims for February 2024 at higher-tier facilities and March 2024 for most lower-tier providers.
NHIA CEO Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye emphasized that the authority will continue its engagement with stakeholders to address any concerns and work towards a sustainable and efficient healthcare system.
